Extension, loft conversion and full renovation of Twickenham semi-detached home
About
The brief for the Pace team was to completely renovate this three-bedroom 1930s house and create as much space as possible for a growing family.
At ground-floor level we extended the rear and into the side return, with bi-fold doors across the entire width of the property. This created a generous open-plan kitchen-diner-living space opening onto the garden. We also built a new separate WC and utility, while maintaining a bike store/garage with roller shutters for easy access.
We extended and completely reconfigured the first floor, adding an additional bedroom/office. An ensuite was added to the master suite and a huge family bathroom was installed. We also extended into the loft to create two additional bedrooms and a bathroom, generous storage spaces, and a large landing to give a feeling of even more space. By replacing and lowering the first-floor ceiling joists we created a second floor that felt like a natural part of the building, rather than a loft addition.
The house was transformed from top-to-bottom, creating a contemporary and spacious six-bedroom family home.
